Medicines/Illness

Medicines

We are only able to administer medicine to the children provided:
  1. the medicine is prescribed by a doctor and is brought to school on a daily basis in a named, one dose container (a 35 mm film case is ideal)
  2. permission has been granted by the Headteacher and a green medication form completed by the parent
  3. the school will not be held liable for any missed doses
We cannot administer eye and ear drops.
For those children suffering from asthma, we keep their inhaler in school for use as required. A non-teaching assistant holds a daily "surgery" for those children requiring a regular midday dose.
Please let us have written details of any on-going medical conditions/medication at the time of registration.

Illness

Tummy Bugs – Sickness and Diarrhoea.

In the event that a child has a tummy bug they must stay off school for 24 hours after the last episode of sickness or diarrhoea. Thank you.
